From the song
Rah Ydir راه يدير by SNX
A Moroccan-dialect track about a woman who has had enough of a man who lies. He acts as if he is trying hard, but he is known in the neighbourhood as a liar, and the speaker says he has wounded her with betrayal after a fire. She picked up her things and left, because he is the one who wanted the break. She says he has grown arrogant and has not stopped burning, that he sparked a flame in her heart, and that people carried the news to her. She waited and was patient, and she forgave him in everything. Now she says he has no mind, he sits like a stone, and his offers of peace mean nothing. It is an old thing, she says, and he should not remind her of it. The hook returns: he is doing his best, but I am done.
Deeper meaning
The title means "he is trying", and the song undercuts it. The point of view is a woman who has already left, and the song is her explanation to the neighbourhood that has heard his side. The line that it is an old thing is a refusal to be dragged back into the story.
