From the song
Qamar قمر by SNX
A dance song that tells the beloved to look at the moon. Look, he says, again and again, until it works as a spell. You gave me delight, he tells her, and then, in the next breath, you burned me with fire. In the middle the music opens a scene made of sound: girls laughing and chatting, a small child, a train compartment with its steady rhythm of iron. There is a line about the one who has no money and only needs her love.
Deeper meaning
The moon is the thing you can both look at from different places, so the song is about longing across distance. Joy and burning arrive together, and the train scene is the world carrying on around a man who is looking up. The note about having no money, only love, gives it a modest, human edge.
