Uyoon Al-Qalb

عيون القلب

Poems inspired by SNX's songs, retold by AIA Labs.

From the song

Uyoon Al-Qalb عيون القلب by SNX

A short Egyptian song of sleeplessness. The eyes of the heart stay awake and do not sleep. He is neither awake nor asleep, and his eye is on the wound that is melting him. His beloved's eyes are sweet. The same four lines return, with a cheer between them.

Deeper meaning

The title says that the heart has eyes, and they are the ones that keep watch. It is the insomnia of someone in love, held between waking and sleep, where the wound and the beauty of her eyes are the same thing.
