From the song

Min Al Sama من السما by SNX

A song of a lover calling after someone who has gone. "From the sky, from the earth," he says, he asks for news of her wherever she is, wondering what became of her. He sees her heart and forgets everything else; the rose melts in a proud tear. The core question, asked over and over, is whether she can live without him. He promises he is with her and that even death is not far, and asks what pleases her, and how she answers him with drowned tears and a burning cup. After patience and coldness, he has not stopped going back to see her. A refrain of "oh, my night" runs through it and ends in a stubborn claim that she cannot live without him, and that he has seen her in his heart every day.

Deeper meaning

Possessive longing, close to the older love songs of the region, in a mix of Maghrebi and Egyptian phrasing. The shape is more nostalgic than modern.
