مشيتي

From the song
Misheti مشيتي by SNX
A Moroccan-dialect break-up song with an Egyptian verse. The refrain is a plain accusation: you are the one who left, you are the one who wanted it, and I am the one who cried and could not let go. Other people forget, but he never forgot his home. He wants to see her and give her the news, to keep her in his mind and tell her that he has been thinking of her, and he roams the city by day and sits at home in the evening. The Egyptian verse turns the mood around: life goes on in an ordinary way and everything seems forgotten, yet he still remembers being told to be brave, that love is a gift and not in our hands. He said "not now", and asks when. She is afraid that if she leaves she will not be able to cope, and that one day she will live in regret.
Deeper meaning
The title means "you left", and the song keeps handing the blame back and forth. It is not an angry song, more a tired one: he cries, she is afraid, and the verse about regret is a warning that is also a hope. The clash of dialects makes the piece feel like two people answering each other from different places.
