Nafsi

A song of wishing, in Egyptian Arabic with an English bridge. He wished he could be happy with her, the whole world happy with them, her hand in his, wanting the things they both loved and smiling when they saw them. If he had any choice he would choose her, not a single day away. Whatever conditions he faces, he will face, because with her it is real, not imagined; she is the dearest love in the world. The English passage says: you are breaking your own heart and I want you to see, but not that way; I can show you how to grow with it; I need you and I need you to understand; and then, over and over, I was always right there by your side. The Arabic answers: without you the world is hard and getting harder, where do we go now, my love.
