Keda Ya Albi
كده يا قلبي
Poems inspired by SNX's songs, retold by AIA Labs.
From the song
Keda Ya Albi كده يا قلبي by SNX
An Egyptian farewell that begins in disbelief and ends in leaving. In the first part she asks how he could go and leave her alone in life, he who was a piece of her and everything good in her. Does he mean it, that she will never see him again, never touch him, never tell him what is hurting? She will miss him terribly, dearer than her own eyes. She tells him to take all the time he needs, because in the end it will not matter. Then the song turns. If you see the person who sold you out, don't be upset with them. Burn your past, and burn with it. By the last verse she can no longer wait. She says goodbye and goes to the one who loved her, since he never once stood beside her.
Deeper meaning
The song is two songs in sequence. First is the plea of someone being left, then the moment she decides to be the one who leaves. The refrain does the turning: the same question that begins as pain returns as a verdict. The idea that he will find out in his own time carries a calm threat. She is no longer asking.
