From the song
Bromo Min Ayniha برومو من عينيها by SNX
A long praise song in the old style. Light springs from her eyes. She is a gazelle among gazelles, and God never made a face so full of joy. Her hair smells of oud. Her lashes are a sea in which a lover drowns, and he is a diver in her sea and wounded on her shore. When she sleeps she makes him sleep, and when she wakes she fills the room. My gazelle, my eye, my love, my soul. His dreams are bound in her eyes. He asks for nothing except her pleasure, and no one else lives in his heart. He is like a fish in the deep sea, who suffocates if he leaves it.
Deeper meaning
The fish image is the strongest: love as the water he lives in. The sea of lashes and the diver make her eyes a world to be lost in. The poem is classical in its devices, the gazelle, the oud, and the drowning, but it ends with a plain dependence, which gives it force.
