From the song
Aziza عزيزة by SNX
A song to a woman called Aziza, which means dear and precious, so the name works as a pet name too. The Maghrebi verse wishes that my country lives, wherever this land may be. In Egyptian the singer cries out to heaven. What happened? Help me! Then the advice of a friend: if you feel you are moving slowly, it is not in your hands, it is in the hands of your dear one. The title word is repeated throughout, over wordless vocal runs.
Deeper meaning
The opening toast to the homeland makes it possible to hear Aziza as the beloved or as the country, and the song does not choose. Either way, it is about a person whose pace is set by someone else. The friend's line is the closest the song comes to wisdom: you cannot hurry what depends on someone you love.
