He says absence came, either she went away or she left, and she left him not knowing. Then a second thread: a friend who wanted to bring him down, who pulled him aside politely, who looked at him with beautiful eyes and then talked about her. The refrain is the same, said again and again. He did not recognise her, he did not recognise the friend, and he did not see it coming.
