الحب هدية

Poems inspired by SNX's songs, retold by AIA Labs.

From the song

Al Hobb Hadiyya الحب هدية by SNX

A plea in a mixed formal and Egyptian voice. My dear, love is a gift, so do not torment me. I will be by your side always, and perfectly. Wherever you are, I am beside you. Tonight is with me, there is a mirror of love, I want you to stay with me. Your love is a gift to me, he says, and he does not want anything else.

Deeper meaning

The song takes a simple idea and holds on to it: love given freely should not be turned into a punishment. The word for gift carries the whole argument, since you do not make people pay for a gift.
