يلا بينا
Poems inspired by SNX's songs, retold by AIA Labs.
From the song
Yalla Bina يلا بينا by SNX
An Egyptian anthem for two people against a watching world. Let's go, he says, stay beside us. Even if every eye is on us, and every kind of accusation is aimed at us, the strongest weapon is the one everyone knows about, when the world slips. Turn it up to full power, everybody is talking, and we will not accept that we are only equal. Every step has been counted, and nobody will make us forget it. The call to go and the request to stay close alternate through the whole track.
Deeper meaning
The song is about solidarity under gossip. It answers the stares with preparation, not with defence: every step was calculated, and so it can be defended. The refusal to be only equal is the proud centre, the sense that the pair is something more than the sum of two people.
