Worth All The Pain

Looking back from the far side of a hard stretch. The steps were heavy, the nights long, and he kept asking whether what he was living through meant anything. A quiet inner voice answered: do not waste this tiredness, maybe it has a reason. He never stopped for long; each time he returned to himself and went on. He learned that patience pays double, and that patience means walking even with wounds. He built himself out of fatigue and time. Tiredness stopped looking like an ending and began to look like the opening of a story. Many people quit and think exhaustion is the final page, but exhaustion is what makes the difference, and whoever finishes the road deserves it. Even the pain that passed became part of him, and in the end he can say it was worth it.
