A man speaks to his own heart, again and again, like a mantra. The heart falls in love with beauty and cannot get enough of it. One love only, and the world seen as light. He admits he loved deeply and rarely said it aloud. He wants to reach the end of the road, then is told there is no end: we are only at the beginning. The refrain pleads with a younger, tender part of himself to stay close, because the soul loves nearness.
