Ya Halim
يا حليم
Poems inspired by SNX's songs, retold by AIA Labs.
From the song
Ya Halim يا حليم by SNX
The title plays on "Halim," a name and an echo of "dream" (helm). It opens with a welcome in formal Arabic: here we are, we have come back from far away. Then a dreamy refrain of the name, summer days in the middle of January, and a wish to live in luxury. It is hard, he says, to get what you cannot have, but God gave me what I need. The song ends on a rising call to the dreamer to get up.
Deeper meaning
Contentment against longing: the speaker wants more, accepts what he has, and dreams of a warm day in the dead of winter as the image of both. A light, meditative track.
