The Fire Calls

The fire calls: come and burn. Circles draw closer, skin burns, the old skin starts to go. Something deeper says go forward and don't let go: enter the fire, do not tremble. Everyone fears the fire, but the flame only takes what was borrowed: the mask, the name, the fear. Give it back freely and what is left is pure. When fear melts, the name goes, and what remains is light that keeps burning.
