From the song
Salam سلام by SNX
The title means "peace." An Egyptian-dialect song with an English chorus. He said he would live in peace and asks to be allowed to, being a human being with a heart; why betray someone who loves you? One who loves without roots has no security and will be unlucky for life; do not tell me you are the one who loved me, do not be foolish, nobody forced you. There is no solution, he says, this winter, this hunger, this country are never full. The English section turns to defiance: what did I do to deserve this, I was born to live a man's life, there is no time for regret, and if I die tomorrow I will have none. The last Arabic line calls out to a man named Si Mohamed to bring the drink.
Deeper meaning
Peace is the thing he is denied, and the song answers with bravado: live fully, refuse regret. The local flavour (a named waiter or host) turns the plea into a night-out scene.
