Noor Al-Ayn نور العين by SNX

A short Egyptian love song whose title means light of my eye. My love, my dear one, he sings, and says that all his nights are spent dreaming of her. His mind is preoccupied, and he loves her with all his heart. All his life he has dreamed of her. Tell me, he asks, tell me you will not leave me, because my life is in your hands.

Deeper meaning

It is the plainest kind of devotion: constant dreaming, constant worry, and a request for reassurance. The last request, to be told she will not leave, shows the fear underneath the sweetness.
