Marhaban مرحباً by SNX

A pop-flavoured track that opens on a repeated "hello" and then admits the speaker is tired of pretending. She does not know what went wrong, only that she needs rest, and she begs not to be hated and says she is sorry for having made a mess of things. A second scene has a meeting in a street in Paris and a dance, with his eyes on her in a way that feels like it could finish her off. Then comes gossip: they say that when he sees her he would do anything, that he is jealous of her friends, that one friend even says he wants to marry her. If that is true, she asks, why are they all playing this silly game?

Deeper meaning

Hello is used as a hesitant opening to a conversation neither side dares to have. The song is about the gap between what a couple says to each other and what everyone else claims to know, and the question at the end is the whole point: if the feelings are real, why not say so?
