From the song
Hneesh حنيش by SNX
An Egyptian blues-style plea over a slow beat. The night and the eyes and the wound have broken him, and people are making fun of him; he does not know what to do. Do not hurt me, he says again and again, my heart is weak, it is forbidden. If you don't want me, leave me, but without pain. Why do you swear oaths and then gloat over me in front of people? He confesses that he has got used to her wounds, used to the pain, used to her, and asks only where to walk in order to go with her.
Deeper meaning
Learned helplessness in love: the speaker names his dependence on the thing that hurts him and begs for kindness, not freedom. The most direct plea in the older catalogue, with a clear tie to Do You Love Me.
