Aman أمان by SNX

A Moroccan Darija song whose title means safety and peace. His heart is in love and wants to live in a kind of madness. He asks the heart why it loves someone who does not want it and who throws it into blind seas. He tells the beloved she has made him almost die. Then comes the most vivid part of the song: he describes ordinary household sounds around him. People talking and laughing over tea and glasses, a chair being moved, a fan turning, kitchen pots clinking softly. In the middle of all that, he says, he hears his heart loving her.

Deeper meaning

The title is a promise that the song cannot keep. There is no safety for a heart in love with someone who will not return it. The domestic sound picture is the best idea in the piece. A warm room of people is the place where his private ache becomes loudest, so the ordinary world becomes the proof of his isolation.
