From the song

Alam آلام by SNX

An Egyptian-Arabic song of a person closing a painful chapter. The road of grown-up people is one with no pain, he says, but he and his heart have been tired for years and have had enough sorrow. He tells his heart to lift the load, empty the tears and forget the dream that was an illusion. From the start, he says, these words are an ending for everyone who hurt them and left without pain. They tried to forgive and please them, and still the others left. Years were spent with them, and they were not worth it. He will forget for his own sake, in order to carry on tomorrow. The chorus then turns into a new-year toast: this year came without pain, may every year find you well, and it will make you happy and make this the best year yet.

Deeper meaning

The title word means "pains", and the song wants them behind it. Ending on a greeting is the cleverest turn: the break from the past is celebrated with the language of the new year, so leaving the pain behind is treated as a fresh start. It is a song about forgiving enough to stop carrying people, not about forgetting them.
