الوجود

From the song
Al Wujud الوجود by SNX
A Moroccan Darija song that begins with the world and turns to existence. He says this world is treacherous, and he asks how many times it will betray. He talks about people who simply forget, and about the world he has seen, bent over, with many who walked the road bent before him. Then he asks, over and over, whether existence is real or not, whether there is such a thing as being. He says he could live without it and would not care if it mocked him. A long chant carries the music between the verses.
Deeper meaning
The title is a word with two layers. It means existence and being in the philosophical sense, and it also means presence, the fact of someone being there. The song seems to ask both questions at once: does anything last, and does anyone stay? The answer it settles on is a shrug that is partly defiance. He will live without it, and being mocked will not matter.
