Poems inspired by SNX's songs, retold by AIA Labs.
From the song
Wahdati وحدتي by SNX
The title means "my solitude." A plea to be left alone: what do you want from me, I love being alone, please leave me. I need the air, he says again and again. Then the register changes into classical literary Arabic, a father figure addressed at dusk: our day has passed, the mountains and clouds are quiet, go now and rest your mind, we are not concerned with what covers us; the light has gone and everything calls for the one who is coming. He says he will send his dream walking, mind relieved, with the worries and sorrows living in the strength of his memories. The closing phrase is that he has no one but loneliness in a sad world.
Deeper meaning
Loneliness as chosen and then as truth: the speaker begins by demanding space and ends by admitting he has nobody else. The two registers (plain speech, then high poetry) are the song's most distinctive feature.
