From the song

Sahir ساحر by SNX

A Moroccan Darija dance song about a charmer. He says the beloved came along his path by chance, and it is not forbidden to love her. His eyes do not lie. He feels something telling him where her eyes are, and he calls her a disappointment to his hope and a devil, half in play. Let me be yours today, he says, and then tells her to listen and to know that he is content. He asks her permission to bring her to the family house. A spoken address to Morocco itself interrupts: listen to me, let me tell you. Then the title is chanted, and night and day are named as the times he wants to see it with her.

Deeper meaning

The word means sorcerer, and the song uses it about the beloved and perhaps about himself. The most grounded line is the request to bring her home to meet the family, which turns a flirtation into a serious intention. The shout to Morocco makes it a song with a sense of place, a love story told to a whole country.
