Oshaqha
عشقها
Poems inspired by SNX's songs, retold by AIA Labs.
From the song
Oshaqha عشقها by SNX
The title means "I loved her" or "I love her." A Moroccan Darija song about a love that will not die. He says there is no crown on anyone's head but hers, and that he sees a different kind of love in her eyes, a laugh within weeping. Heart, live, he tells himself; the bond is stronger than separation. Every day he feels he is dying for her, yet his heart belongs to her alone, and his kind of love is not like other people's. He asks God to give her health and to make her happy, and says whoever wants her may take her. "Enough, I'll forget her," he says, and then keeps singing about her. He turns to her: do you know why you grew bigger in my eyes, why you changed me, why you drove people away from me?
Deeper meaning
A man who wishes his beloved well while unable to let go; the repeated "I'll forget her" is the lie the song keeps telling itself. There are three uploads of this song; it is covered once here.
