Kind Heart

Night is asked to slow down so the words can be said. A tender heart slipped in between exhaustion and the cold, where the singer walked lost and alone down a long street. One small laugh from the beloved eased the pain, and the eyes bring a strange calm, safety and warmth. A hand on the shoulder says more than many sentences, in silence. In that love the singer hides his weakness and asks to be allowed to soften. On the day the beloved is tired and falls, there is a chest to lean on and a heart that is a home for those eyes. If everyone turns away and the doors of the world close, hand in hand they will never leave each other. An English passage in the middle speaks of shadows and walls and being chosen, and then the opening image of walking alone returns.
