Firaqna
فراقنا
Poems inspired by SNX's songs, retold by AIA Labs.
From the song
Firaqna فراقنا by SNX
It opens as a confession, almost spoken: this talk should have happened at the start, but fear of upsetting the other person, or of being left, kept it silent. Now each of them walks a separate road and each has lost the other. The singer says the parting was never chance, that it had to happen, and that the love was a mirage dressed in the voice of truth, fooling them and everyone watching. Then a picture: love arrives like a bird from the sky, you catch it, cage it, and in the end it slips out and flies back to the sky. It returns with another face but it is the same bird, one seen from far away and never held, and each person goes on imagining the bird they once had is now in someone else's hands.
Deeper meaning
A song about hindsight and illusion. The caged bird is love treated as property, and the returning bird says the pattern repeats with new people. The line that both were deceived is the gentle part: nobody is the villain, they were both taken in by a story. The spoken start makes it sound like a late-night call, the kind of honesty that comes too late.
