From the song

Bayti Hunak بيتي هناك by SNX

A song of exile and the question of home. A figure passes quickly on the road and brings urgent news of his absence, his distance, and the longing of someone waiting for him. He knows how often he has put off a visit, how often home comes to him in dreams, awake and asleep. People ask him where he is going, and he answers that his home is there. Then the answer changes to a home that is here, and he asks the place whether it will remain as he left it, tall like palm trees and hills. The verses speak of a place full of memory, of friends and children and old stories, of a life that has passed. He says he once had a house, but hope now lies in what is coming; tonight he wishes tomorrow will explain the meaning.

Deeper meaning

Home as a question, not a place: "there" and "here" trade places as the song goes on. It has the feel of a modern Arabic poem set to music, and the formal Arabic of the verses sets it apart from the dialect songs. It is likely the most literary lyric in the older catalogue.
